Finland Field Notes

Landscape & seasons

The quiet
north.

Forests at the water's edge. Long evenings in summer. Snow settling between the trees. A few notes on a landscape shaped by the seasons.

01 / FOREST

A slower rhythm

Pine and spruce give much of the Finnish landscape its familiar outline. Along a forest path, smaller details come into focus: moss on stone, a pale birch trunk, the changing colour of leaves.

02 / WATER

Room for reflection

Lakes and islands interrupt the forest with open sky. A still morning can make the far shore look almost weightless; a little wind turns the same view into a pattern of light.

03 / LIGHT

A different season

Summer brings long hours of daylight, while winter asks for a different pace. Between them, spring thaw and autumn colour offer brief, distinct chapters in the year.
